Have only been able to play for 20 min since I got it a few weeks ago....wish I had waited, but never imagined sales would be that bad right off the bat. Three star and 2 1/2 star reviews not helping...
My initial impression was that it was much harder to drive, but curious how much of that is from ‘simulation vs arcade’, or if it really sucks that bad. The quick reviews I read all trashed the gameplay, but I wanted it for the sim/realism aspect. Anyone a veteran of the PC version and have tried it on the console? Will have to search for some comparisons.

The problem with Assetto Corsa is that it’s barely a game. On PC with the likes of iRacing, rFactor etc, it matches up rather well. On console against Forza, GT and PC, it comes across incredibly dry and rather bare. If you just want to hot lap then it’s great but if you’re looking for any sense of progression then look elsewhere.

If you’ve got an android phone or tablet you can download an app by Sebastian Barz called HUD dash so you can have the dash displayed on it. It’s pretty nifty.

I agree with this assessment. It’s a fantastic sim but it has almost no “gameplay”. I haven’t touched it in two months or so but at last check the multiplayer is also hopeless in its near zero UI. Painful multiplayer UX means I’ve owned it since launch on steam but only sank 30-40 hours into it.
3/5 it’s got solid bones but no meat.
Gotta try p.cars and hope that’s better since I’ve really been missing my online sim racing addiction.

Typical. It has fantastic reviews on PC, but there are many more immature console players who expected this to be a cheaper Forza. It’s an amazing simulator, but not much beyond that.

Something about the physics on Project Cars felt far off to me.
